I'm so glad this opened in my neighborhood. It's within walking distance from my house and I love going over there and getting a smoothie or a juice. It's always kinda quiet in there so I find it a little intimidating. The employees are nice and helpful. It just takes forever for them to whip up your drink. I have been wanting to do a juice cleanse but it's rather expensive. I mean a smoothie is $9! You could drive down the street to Smoothie King and get one for $5 but it wouldn't be as good of quality or healthier. They have some sort of rewards method where you give them your cell number and you get points. I've yet to receive a discount so we shall see!

It's worth the effort to park! I've watched a couple of other stores fizzle in the space now occupied by the Big Sqeezy, but I'm hopeful it stays around for awhile. The menu is well thought out with a variety of cold-pressed juices and smoothies. The juices are pre-made but very fresh, so there is no wait time. They will also let you try a taste before you buy, so don't be shy to make a taste request. I juice at home and am well aware of the health benefits. I'm also well aware of the time it takes to clean the fruit and produce, the mess it creates and cleanup it entails, and the expense of the pounds of produce and fruit needed to make a small quantity of juice. The $8 to $9 price for a truly fresh juice or smoothie is well worth it.

The Big Squeezy, located in the popular Perkins overpass area, is Baton Rouge's only cold-pressed juice bar. Their menu consists of fruit/vegetable juices and shots, all priced between $2 (for shots)-$9 (for juices). The decor is modern, clean and bright with a handful of seats. The service is prompt as well. I tried the Purple Rain, which consists of various berries, banana, rice protein, agave, coconut oil and coconut water. It was tasty and very filling, with the very faintest hint of sweetness. The only recommendation I have is that they include some sort of description on the menu that gives customers some hint of what the juices taste like. With the various ingredients in any given juice it's difficult to imagine what it might taste like. I saw several people asking for "samples" so that might be the way to go, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to sample. I took a chance on the Purple Rain and it turned out great, but would like to have more of a description to go on. I would also like the nutritional facts printed on the menu. Overall, I think this is a great addition to the Baton Rouge area and I look forward to trying more of their juices.

Forget a Diet, let's talk about a lifestyle...As a Yelpie, I love food and I must admit most of it will not allow me to land on the cover of Healthy Living Magazine anytime soon. So, when I decided to shake up my eating habits just a tad bit, I was referred to The Big Squeezy. Walking in looking like a fish out of water, craving something fried, I can't recall if I told the cashier that I was new to this juice and healthy eating thing, or if she could tell. I remember her saying, "No worries, we have plenty of samples to try." Not only was I relieved, but I was uber excited to sample. I tried several different juices, but the Crazy Eight and Sweet Tart were my favorites. Luckily, I came during Happy Hour BO GO half off from 4-6 Monday-Friday. I chose Crazy Eight which includes pineapple, lemon, green apple, carrot, watermelon, orange, and sweet beet. Beets brought back memories of grade school and it wasn't pleasant-- until I tried it again. Yum. Besides Happy Hour, customers can buy-in to their membership and other luxe offers. I'll defiantly be back for more, especially Sweet Tart which was sold out. The cashier says they sell out early, so if you want to buy this goodie, come early. Needless to say, The Big Squeezy made my introduction to unpasteurized juices (not from Walmart and etc..) a good and healthy one.

I'd been wanting to do a juice cleanse for the past few weeks and did tons of research. There are several options online, but when I saw BR had a juice place I knew I had to go local. I called the store and the girl on the phone, Zoe, was so helpful. She explained what each juice was and what the cleanse was all about. So with my purchase made (48 hour advance) I drove over to pick it up. Let me say, I'm a vegetarian who mostly eats healthy. But I'm by no means a health food junkie, and juicing is an anomaly to me. So when I say I had to adjust to the juices, it was a bit different. The juices are really fresh tasting... you can almost taste the individual ingredients. I can't say I loved them, but they did their job and kept me from being hungry. But let me please rejoice over the deliciousness that is the Almond Mylk. The girl in the store told me it was sort of like your dessert for the day. And she's so right. I could drink it all day. I will definitely be back to try a few more juices and pick up more Almond Mylk. I also want to try the Morning Glory because it sounds divine. Yes, the prices are a bit high. But for the convenience I am totally satisfied.

So when I'm traveling I generally don't carry my NutriBullet with me so I have to find a place and get a juice. I know one juice from a place like this usually costs me the same amount for a weeks worth of juice I make myself. What I wasn't ready for was the price of a juice at this place. $9.00 for 17oz of juice!!!! The juice was good but not that good. The other very annoying fact was that they had a place for A TIP on the receipt!! I didn't think the person working behind the counter did enough work to warrant asking for a tip. I'm not sure how difficult it was to turn around and grab a bottle out of the cooler behind her. I have never paid that much for juice and will never again. Avoid this place and find another or just go buy some fruit from the store. Definitely not worth it to me.

Oh yeah... I am a huge fan! Even though I am a blend-a-holic with my Blendtec at home and make fresh green juices daily, I still enjoy trying other juices and smoothies! The experience was perfect from the moment I opened that door... it is always nice to be greeted by smiling faces. It was awesome because the vibrant colors of the store alone heightened my craving for a cold juice! As soon as I got to the counter and was face-to-face with an employee, I immediately let her know that it was my first time! It was so cool because they offered me a taste of all their cold-pressed juices and their "mylks"... WOW!! The juices were spiked with such bold flavors! Each sample made me want more... like how could they top the next? Flavors of ginger, lemon, orange, red beets, pineapple, kale, etc were just some of the more memorable tastes! The "mylks" were out-of-this-world... cold-pressed coffee aka "Morning Glory"... ummm I could drink that all day!! After trying all of the juices enticed me to order a Superfood Smoothie! I ordered the "Greeña Colada and I requested for smaller amounts of fruit and more spinach... oh yeah! When I make smoothies at home, I add a small amount of fruit, so it was nice to taste the other flavors of this smoothie other than the pineapple & banana; I tasted more of the almond butter, coconut oil & almond milk. I enjoyed it very much and saved the other half for my 4-year old, who also loved it! So... mother & child approved - way to go "Big Squeezy"! Thank you for bringing this much-needed establishment to Baton Rouge. You are right... "you are what you drink"!! I will be back very soon! A plus is that is located in the Perkins Overpass area, which is absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is the parking lot... not heels friendly... too many rocks; I have to walk very slow! Lastly, some may also say it is pricey, but when you have the freshest ingredients at your disposal... you have to pay a bit of a higher price... great quality! Next time, I will be there for breakfast for some "raw oatmeal". * cold-pressed juices * green juices * green smoothies * cold-pressed *

Seriously awesome! I got the Sweet Greens juice after having the opportunity to sample all of them. Along with their homemade Almond Milk. oh my goodness was it good! the best almond milk I have ever had by far. Expensive but what do you expect, it's high quality stuff. Definitely some place to stop by if you're looking for a real healthy drink, not a "smoothie" with fake fruit and pumps of sugary syrup.

I stop here on my way to Houston from New Orleans. Sunday's now has a 10% off juice special. The raw oatmeal is UNREAL as is the Morning Glory. I've also had their juices and the Awesomeness smoothie with kale added. This trip, my husband got the Purple Rain and loved it. If I lived in this area, I'd be here multiple times a week. SO GOOD.

My wife steered us here because it sounded good after trudging through another new gym workout. Located around the corner from Schlitz-n-Giggles, where I wanted to go, this was a much healthier and fulfilling choice. Everyone was friendly and the owner or manager? offered us samples of the juices to make deciding easier. My wife got the Awesomeness smoothie, which was chocolaty awesome. I got the very refreshing Root Awakening. It is hard to describe the flavors they have. So the best thing is to just go and sample. But, I can't imagine any to be a bad choice. My only complaint is that it is a little pricey. And I want to go here so often that I can see it becoming a financial problem.

Looking for a little healthy pick-me-up in Baton Rouge? Stop by the cleverly named Big Squeezy on Perkins Road. They provide a lot of options of juices, smoothies, and other healthy treats. The prices may be a bit higher than other smoothie places, but the ingredients are the real deal. Almost anything that comes out of the ground will be put in a juicer here an into your cup. And to me, that is a good sign of a healthy smoothie.

Found this spot by complete accidente, and man I love when that happens! Had the Crazy 8 and some dried papaya. Beautifuly crafted! The juice was fresh, the place is actully pretty nice, and the girl at the counter was really kind. I wish you the very best guys! Keep it up!

Yaaaas. My sister lives in BR and insisted we stop here, and I am glad we did. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the two young gals behind the counter were fantastic in explaining the thoughts and ingredients that go into making the juices here. They were so enthusiastic and very proud to let us sample all the juices and even the new oatmeal and soups they had. It's refreshing to see people who are so invested in and enthused about what they are selling. I ended up getting the seasonal pumpkin smoothie (literally the best thing I've had all season), which filled me up with healthy things but tasted quite like dessert. I got a Crazy Eights juice for later also. The prices are on the high side, but as Kelsey W. mentioned it kind of saves you the headache of buying/storing all the produce and cleaning/preparing the juicer yourself. As I'm not a local, I probably won't be back often, but when I make my biannual trip to BR I will be back!

went in the other day to check it out (and avoid a drive thru b/c I was starving). I tried some juice samples. went for the sweet greens. And a smoothie, the awesomeness one. I would say it was all just OK. wont be a regular, but it was ok. I know some people will love it and I wish the biz well, hope they do well here.

My husband and I stop by here every couple of weeks. They have a great selection of freshly squeezed juices. They are great for a pick me up shot of energy.

Great owner. Great place. Nothing like it here. This is for the serious juice people. And the raw oatmeal is BOMB DIGGITY. Try it.

So, I finally had an opportunity to visit The Big Squeezy! I'm so happy that I wasn't in a hurry because it took me no less than 15 mins to make my selection. The young woman that helped me was beyond patient and did a great job giving me an intro to the store and allowed me to sample several juices. I'm sure I tried just under 10 samples! I opted for the sweet tart and crazy eight. Both were outstanding and incredibly refreshing. Now, I will admit - I will return, but not often. The $8.99 price tags were a little steep for my wallet. But, if you visit between 4 and 6, you receive half off your second large purchase. Service was really good and juice was very nice. Loved it!

I've stopped by a couple times before, but wanted to show my mom when my family was in town for Thanksgiving. I think it's great that there is a place in Baton Rouge that is working with local suppliers using sustainable land/food practices and passing on these great nutrients to health-conscious consumers!! Prices are a little on the high side, but if you've ever juiced (especially with a centrifugal juicer) then you know you're bypassing a ton of produce (fitting it in your fridge, using it all on time, paying for it, CLEANING the juicer...) and just getting straight to the good stuff!! The staff will let you try as many juices as you want, plus the mylks, AND their new raw oatmeal. We probably tried all of them, but once we saw my little brother actively interested and trying juices, there was no way we could stop him (anything to get a boy to get his veggies!!!). We ended up with two Crazy Eights, a limited time pumpkin smoothie, a Purple Rain smoothie, and an Almond Mylk. That was Tuesday, and I stopped in again on Sunday after walking the LSU Lakes. I felt not-so-great and got the Immunity Shot (holy oregano + ginger!!!), a Crazy Eight, and a Skinny Greens. I'm hooked, and it's a good thing this place is across town because I would be broke from visiting every day!!! Do yourself a favor, if you're in the LSU area, stop by and try these juices, the staff is super friendly, and you know you're putting something delicious and nutritious in your body!!
